Overdraft Protection
When life gets hectic, it's easy to lose sight of your checking account balance and overdrafts can occur. The options we offer will give you added peace of mind and better protection of your finances. For more information, contact your banker.
Available for the payment of checks, ACH, Automatic Bill Payments, and Recurring Debit Card Transactions
We may, at our discretion, pay these items into overdraft and assess an overdraft fee on each NSF item.
If we decide not to pay an item into overdraft, it will be returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF) and a fee will be assessed.
Available for the payment of ATM and everyday debit card transactions
We will generally not authorize and pay these items into overdraft unless you ask us to, which we refer to as opting-in to this service.
If you opt-in and we authorize and pay these items into overdraft, we may assess an overdraft fee on each overdraft item. Even if you do not opt-in, we may pay these items into overdraft if a sufficient available balance was available at the time of authorization, but not available at the time of settlement. However, we will not charge you an overdraft fee. You may opt-in or out at any time.
If you have either a personal savings or another personal checking account with us, you can link either one to your personal checking account as overdraft protection. There is no cost to set up this service. Funds will be deducted from your linked savings account in increments of $100.00, or if your balance is less than $100.00, the remaining balance in your linked account will be transferred.
A line of credit is another option available to cover overdrafts. This service requires you to complete a loan application and approval is based on your credit worthiness and other criteria. The amount of your limit may vary. Upon approval, a line of credit is linked to your designated checking account with us. At the end of the day, we will advance on your line, in increments of $100.00 to cover the overdraft(s) up to your line of credit limit. An annual fee generally applies to this account. Ask us how you can apply for our line of credit.
